Color Play Art Retreat: June 25-28 in Payson, AZ

I’m over-the-moon excited to announce my first in-person retreat in the beautiful, cozy, mountain town of Payson, AZ! We’ll be creating big, bold, colorful art over our 4 days and 3 nights together! The fun starts June 25-28, 2023. Registration is open!

I’ve been wanting to create an intimate art retreat for some time now and it’s finally coming together! There are three onsite rooms available at the retreat house and options to purchase the workshop with your own plans for lodging (perfect for locals or those who are coming up as a group and would like a little more space).

Day 1: We’ll explore all-things art journal as we build and prep our journal.

Day 2: We’ll explore the importance of building a background layer (first in our journals and then on our canvas). Part 2 will be an exploration of faces and florals.

Day 3: We’ll focus on getting those layers just right. You’ll learn how to layer various media, and all my tricks/tips for how to get the layers right. In part 2 we’ll hone in on those details, building on what we created and learned the day before to bring one of our creations to a finished state.

The retreat is limited to 10 attendees. I expect we will fill up fast! You will have the choice to stay onsite or arrange for your own accommodations. The retreat space is bright, colorful, and relaxing! It has three bedrooms and sleeps up to 6 (options are available to share a room or have one to yourself). Light refreshments and snacks provided throughout our time together (please let me know of any dietary restrictions or allergies when you register). Lunch and dinner will be on our own (there are many wonderful, local choices and we may even decide as a group to dine together).

Day 1:

Accommodations & Tuition:

• Bedroom 1 has a King bed with a private bathroom and sitting area: $1075

• Bedroom 2 has a Full bed with a private sitting area and shared bathroom: $975

Payson is a sweet and cozy mountain town just 1.5 hours north of Phoenix, AZ. Boasting a private covered patio, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bright and colorful interior, this 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat home is the perfect place to gather, relax, and create art! The Tonto National Forest surrounds the area with easy-accessible hiking trails and recreation. Enjoy Payson’s restaurants, shopping, local museums, and all the charm this little town has to offer! Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is the nearest airport.
